Who: The new endeavour of the London-based Italian-Mexican musician Stefania F. Cardenas, co-founder, singer and guitarist of the now defunct all-female indie act Madonnatron (I loved them, criminally underrated) and musical partner Dexter.

Debut Single: BOLLYWOOD GANGSTA

Cardenas: “The music industry can be a rough sea to sail. Red Peril represents
the ultimate form of creative freedom. Every aspect of this project is curated in-house
in true DIY spirit. Red Peril was born as a form of escapism during times of uncertainty.
I ended up quitting everything; my job, band, relationship and flat.

All I wanted was to make music, put my stories into sound, and that’s what Red Peril is. I met Dexter last year at a gig. We instantly clicked and started playing together. His incredible guitar and production skills have made these songs come alive. We have been lucky to receive support from Blang Records, who have given us so much encouragement and creative freedom.”

TUTV: Totally sensuous, seductive, and sexy. Cardenas‘ near-whispering voice lifts this trippy mid-tempo groove to a midnight hour sensation. The layered chorus harmonies add more titillation while the sultry vibe keeps on moving. Music has a healing energy, inspired by it Cardenas left the troubled past behind, teamed up with musical partner Dexter and starts all over again now with this top-notch debut.

London‘s voodoo inspired rockers MADONNATRON announced their second full-length, entitled ‘MUSICA ALLA PUTTANESCA’ last February. Musica what? Well, if my research is right it should mean something like this: “Music prostitutes listen to when making a tomato sauce called ‘puttanesca’, which can be cooked quickly, between clients’ visits.” If this is wrong, then I guess the new LP’s title means something else. Man oh man, life can be so simple.

Whatever, after sharing the first spooky single Sucker Punch some weeks ago here’s another new one called GOODNIGHT LITTLE EMPIRE. ‘Apocalyptic gloom for the discerning disco goer!’ says the band. Oh yes, this vibey humdinger resonates actually like the perfect soundtrack to dance to on Great-Britain‘s funeral, the day Brexit is a reality. It’s a seducingly sensual, satiric and salacious score with a sexy sax. Here’s your Saturday Nightmare Fever with Madonnatron…

London‘s turbulent indie rockers MADONNATRON are back. Here’s, after their self-titled 2017 debut album and the steamy 2018 single Mermaids, new spooky single ‘SUCKER PUNCH‘. Think “Red Sonja Vs Paris Hilton in the Thunderdome” says the band. In other words this is a flamboyant belter pushed by a solid drum/bass beat, electrified with bloodthirsty guitars while the high-pitched vocals cause that typical, sensual Madonnatron voodoo feel again. The infectious chorus and multiple-voiced gusty finale ensure that ‘Sucker Punch‘ will invade your brain and wander around for some time without asking permission.
