Electro Krautrock In Overdrive – New Album ‘FALL OFF THE APEX’ By LA JUNGLE

22 May 2021

Band: LA JUNGLE
Who: An inflammable two cylinder
electro-noise engine from Belgium.

Album: FALL OFF THE APEX – their 4th LP
Released: 21 May 2021 – more info here

Score: Once this electro-punk-rock turbo leaves the gates, it’s impossible to
turn it off, no way whatsoever. Jim and Reggie produce a red-hot avalanche of
thunderous beats to go totally ballistic to, unless you’re stuck in a straitjacket.
Their trance-like, mind-boggling, faster-than-your-brain-can-register drive makes
your poor head spin uncontrollably. Repetitive guitar/synth/drum riffs boost your adrenalin’s stream and help you to shake all your hell-bent demons off. Get the
sonic picture? Before you press play make sure you’re, physically, in top shape,
if not you risk losing control and crash. Either way you’ll have a shocking electric
chair experience.

Here’s a short instruction track-by-track manual
in order to know what your ears can expect…

Aluminium River: Warming up
Le Jour Du Cobra: Razzle-dazzle wizardry
Du Sang Du Singe: Nine Inch Nails without brakes
Hyperitual: Hellish roller coaster
Marimba: Taking a breath
Feu L’Homme: Apocalypse Now
Interloud: Drums from the jungle
The End The Score: A didjeridoo driven tour de force,
ominous and spellbinding. A never-ending mindfucker.

LA JUNGLE – New Live Album And Mad Clip For ‘THE KNIGHT THE DOOM’

New sonic impulses

13 April 2020

Razor-sharp electro-punk tandem LA JUNGLE – one of the steamiest live bands of the
past years – unleashes a double live album called ‘COUCOU BEUH !!!’ on 24th April via
EXAG’ Records. A must have record for all fans of mental electronic rock havoc. If you already seen these manic street preachers live, like I did several times, this double beast
will be your new favorite sonic dope.

The LPs feature nine rippers from the band’s first three albums and one track from the next longplayer. A total of 80 minutes of madness. To celebrate this, the duo launched an utterly cool video clip for THE KNIGHT THE DOOM shot on the plain of the famous Dour Festival in Belgium where one of the two live recordings was made. The clip was directed by Fred Labeye and produced by Jekyll’n’Hyde studio.

Electro-Kraut-Dance-Punk Duo ‘LA JUNGLE’ Thunders Mercilessly Like Supersonic Starfighters…

LA JUNGLE – Café Afsnis, Ghent, Belgium – 13 July 2018

Belgian electro-kraut-dance-punk duo LA JUNGLE is one of the bests live bands around. Fact! Their red-hot avalanche of thunderous beats is simply irresistible to not go totally bananas to unless you’re stuck in a straitjacket. The inflammable 2-piece turbo creates a trance-like, mind-boggling hullabaloo that makes your head spin uncontrollably. Drummer Reggie hits relentlessly like a mean machine. He’s a one-man knockout army. Next to him guitarist Jim produces repetitive riffs that speed up your adrenalin’s stream and now and then he tortures his keyboard like a madman. Despite the fact that he broke a couple of ribs last week didn’t hold him back to perform like a hell-bent demon on a very sweaty mission yesterday night in my hometown Ghent. Together this high-powered pair roars and scorches like supersonic starfighters producing ecstatic electricity that turned the euphoric audience into freakish dancers. I’ve seen these guys before and I want to see them even more in the future. HELL YEAH! Here’s a smashing idea of their explosive
live force…

British Electro Explorers ORBITAL Released Third Longplayer ‘SNIVILISATION’ 25 Years Ago…

3 August 2019

British exploring electro duo ORBITAL released their third longplayer ‘SNIVILISATION on
4 August 1994, 25 years ago. The album came out at the time the government launched the Criminal Justice Act, the law that gave British Police greater legal powers to break up unlicensed raves, exactly the 24-hour party events where Orbital made its name. The LP’s ‘Are We Here? ‘ single featured the track ‘Are We Here? (Criminal Justice Bill?)’, four minutes of complete silence. The album peaked at #4 in the UK and sold more than 80.000 copies.

ALL MUSIC wrote: “Musically, the album delivers on the diverse promises of early B-sides “Choice” and “Belfast,” with more harbingers to their thrash background — especially on “Quality Seconds” — and the addition of a third member, vocalist Alison Goldfrapp, on two songs. The shuffling, quasi-Eastern jungle rhythms of “Are We Here?,” a beautiful piano run to begin “Kein Trink Wasser,” and the glorious ambient climax “Attached” also reflect the fact that ‘Snivilization’ is Orbital’s most varied LP.” Full review here – Score: 4/5

SUUNS Cause Rapid Eye Movement With Flashing Clip For New Single… ‘WATCH YOU, WATCH ME’

Clips that will impress your eyes and your ears…

VivaVideo

11 January 2018

Psychedelic Montreal rockers SUUNS will release their new, fourth album, titled FELT on
2 March and they just launched the first single with a dazzling clip. The jungle-like drums and pumped up synths on WATCH YOU, WATCH ME roar unstoppably while an agitated vocoder voice tries to find its way through the speedy trip. Quite spectacular and highly adrenalizing. So is the accompanying video. Your eyes’ pupils will not be able to absorb
the crushing avalanche of collages of people’s faces in real-time. Experience the R.E.M. causing images here…
